Characterisation: John Keating:
In the book 'Dead Poets Society" Mr. (John) Keating, is a quite special English teacher and a very important main character. In the book, Mr. Keating is described as a probably 50 year old man with brown eyes, brown hair and a round face, medium height, an average looking man but he appeared to be respectable and scholarly. Himself a graduate of the Welton Academy returned back as a teacher from a highly regarded school in London. He has a very interesting and a unique character. He always tries to teach his students about their lives in a very poetic and deep way but although he never teaches the same way and that's the reason why his students respect him and have fun with him. Sometimes he is quiet and by utilizing the stillness he teaches a "deep" way. Otherwise sometimes he's really funny and does everything he want's and all this just for his students to understand how to really live their lives, to be able to think about everything the right way and to be creative and most importantly to have fun what ever they do and not to be shy to even do it. All along the story Mr. Keating gets a special relationship to his students, as specially the members of DPS and that's also a reason for why he's necessary to make the story as exciting as it is and makes the readers think. All together he's a perfectly different teacher and a wonderful person.🙇
